Berry Muesli Overnight Oat Jars

This scarcely counts as a recipe as the method is pretty much a one step process which couldn't be easier, but think of it as more of a recipe suggestion on how I like to prepare overnight oats. It's my go-to recipe which I like to have on a frequent basis throughout the week for a healthy start to the day (minus the optional flavourings of chocolate - if we're being factually correct!)

Banana, Chocolate & Oat Scones

I've always been a lover of scones; plain, cheese, fruit...you name it and I'll be right on it. I think people consider them old fashioned nowadays, bit of an old persons treat, perhaps since it's always been a traditional element to an afternoon tea and guaranteed to be in any twee tearoom and national trust cafe up and down the country flocked with those people of a certain age.

Chocolate Hazelnut and Peanut Butter Bars (Vegan Option)

Right, so valentine's day is just around the corner and what better way to show your loved ones you care than with chocolate?! I don't mean going out and buying any old box of chocolates. I'm talking the homemade kind, in a truly wonderful gooey nutty chocolatey treat (with the box of chocolates thrown on top for good measure) - that's the chocolate hazelnut part of the recipe... ferrero rochers all crumbled up and sprinkled over the bars before baking. Although you'll have to find an alternative for all you vegans.

Baked Banana Choc Digestive Doughnuts

Some people find it easy to write out and about in busy places like at the park or library, although I’d much rather prefer the silence and comfort of being alone. So as I’m currently sat on this 5hr train on my way up to Edinburgh to visit my friend, this post is proving rather difficult to write. But making the most of this boring journey is a strong priority of mine as with university and work I have hardly found the time to blog – evidently.

Caramelised Banana Tart

I've been feeling very uninspired recently, probably a mix of being ill multiple times (seriously though, I've never been this ill AND it came back, again and again...just wonderful) and that the weather has been bloody freezing here!

Sticky Banoffee Chocolate Upside-down Cake

This cake really is what it sounds like: pure indulgence and heaven!! It's not one to be taken by the shovel load but daaammn it's so good and definitely a real treat. The cake is a bit of a mouthful to say (and that's not even all of it! There's also hazelnuts for that added crunch because why not, and I absolutely love 'em!) I could have called it a pudding rather than a cake as it is based on that british classic - sticky toffee pudding.

Instarecipe! Honey Nut and Fruit Granola

Knee deep surrounded by countless boxes, it's safe to say that I'm very nearly packed and well on my way to university life with less than a week to go until the big move in day. As you would assume, I am a bit nervous with what to expect but I'm also so excited to see what this next step in my life brings (sorry for the cheesy cliche but it's true!)

Banoffee Blondies

The blondie. I predict that some of you may be completely in the dark as to what this actually is. If that's you, well, I'll tell you what it is.

Banana Chocolate Hazelnut Pastry Rolls

There's not much to this recipe, and by that I mean in the way of very few ingredients, plus it's not the most complex of creations. BUT that doesn't mean to say it's not delicious! ... gimme banana, gimme chocolate, gimme hazelnuts and you can't really go wrong. A true tried and tested combination that just works for all the right reasons. Along with a sprinkling of cinnamon sugar and all encased with flaky puff pastry - it's an indulgent dessert that's easy enough for anyone to pull off.

Quinoa Granola (sugar-free and gluten free)

I thought that this week a breakfast recipe was in order as I'm constantly trying to find new and not-so-boring cereal alternatives to my weekday mornings. The problem with cereals is, as I've just mentioned: BORING! And when you've just about had enough of your cereal rota (everyone does have one right?) I do struggle to come up with on-the-spot alternatives which won't make me late for college, and that keep me full till lunch, (which believe me, is a hard task when I'm tempted with the daily smell of freshly baked sixth form coffee bar croissants lingering under my nose till noon!)

Italian Breakfast Banana Muffins with Cinnamon Glaze

Well -  first off you might say, hang on a second...I'm sure banana bread can't be classed as Italian! Your sort of right there, however there is an  'Italian' element in this - the hint of espresso powder, and even though there seems quite a lot in there it actually doesn't overwhelm the flavours. It's more of a hint, and the subtle bitterness of the coffee really undercuts, most charmingly, the creamy sweetness of the banana's characteristics.

Banoffee Eclairs

I've been inspired by the Great British Bake Off this week to make some of my own eclairs which are a step away from the bog standard cream and chocolate (not that there is a problem with them at all).
